Automatic Life, Inc. a nonprofit public charity 501 c 3 organization aimed at focusing on increasing minority organ donations targeting African American and Hispanic communities. The group feels that Mo’Nique’s cookbook Skinny Cooks Can’t Be Trusted sends a message that supports unhealthy eating habits. The nonprofit urges the African American community to practice healthy eating habits to prevent the chances of developing diseases that lead to needing organ transplants.
“We certainly admire Mo’Nique and view her as a talented entertainer with strong ties to the African American community,” said Kyle Ransom, Automatic Life, Inc. Chairman. “However, her cookbook promotes eating habits that African Americans must limit for good health.”
