St. Louis comedian Mista McGriff won the top prize at the 22nd annual Bay Area Black Comedy Competition. McGriff beat out 65 contestants in the four-night event. Jaylee Thomas, another St. Louis native, was first runner-up; Damn Fool of Chicago was second runner-up; Daniel Dugar from Oakland was third runner-up; Eddie Bryant and Freddi Vernell of Washington, DC, was fourth and fifth runners-up; and Ron G. from Los Angeles was sixth runner-up.
