Veteran Comedy Manager Marty Fischer Dies

Marty FischerVeteran comedy manager Marty Fischer died of a heart attack Monday night. He was 62. Fischer was CEO of Goldstar Entertainment where he specialized in comedy management, guiding the careers of comedians who have appeared on Comedy Central, VH1, Showtime, HBO, Oxygen, The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He was the former president and owner of the New York Improv. Fischer also produced the Original Las Vegas Comedy Festival, the New York Comedy Expo and Laugh Across America. Most recently, he was appointed COO of National Lampoon Comedy House where he was responsible for spearheading the launch of its first comedy club at Dave & Buster’s in Farmington, NY this past June.
