Doug Benson Apologizes to Canadians for Offensive Remarks After Comedy Club Cancels Shows

Comic Observations: You Can Say It, But It Might Cost You

Comic Observations: Doug Benson was right in that as a comedian and guest on Red Eye (a news parody show), he was there to be funny and entertaining. However, Benson’s snafu serves a cautionary tale that to mock another country’s military troops (just imagine the media fallout and boycott if a comedian made fun of American troops in Iraq) could cost you in paid gigs, especially if you will be performing in that country in the near future.
