National headlining comedian Craig Shoemaker will make a guest appearance on The View, Thursday, April 2, and credits moderator Whoopi Goldberg for his first big break on HBO’s Comic Relief V in 1992.
“She insisted that I be on the show, even though they rejected me,” says Shoemaker. “She insisted to the point of threatening them. I will never forget her for doing that. I’m indebted to her. No one really in this town takes risks like that. The first time I met her was on Comic Relief while in rehearsal and she was amazing. She introduced me and it was literally like walking into fame that night.”
